Who should use Active8 Lotion?

Active8 lotion is beneficial for all ages, all skin types, and all skin tones.

Anyone who wants to simplify their skincare routine without having to give up ingredients should use Active8 lotion with its 8 active ingredients.

Is Active8 Lotion suitable for sensitive skin?

Active8 lotion is a non-sensitizing moisturizer that's considered safe for sensitive skin.

Active8 contains ceramides, CoQ10, glycerin, green tea, hyaluronic acid and shea butter which sooth and protect skin while contributing to a healthy skin barrier.

Because Active8 contains 5% niacinamide, we recommend once daily use for those with niacinamide sensitivity but most will be able to use Active8 lotion twice a day.

Everyone's skin is different and some people can be more sensitive than others. We recommend doing a patch test if in doubt.

Where does Active8 Lotion fit in my skincare routine?

Active8 combines the active ingredients of 5 separate serums and moisturizers and can replace multiple products to streamline your skincare routine.

In the morning we recommend using Active8 Lotion after your acid-based treatments like Angie's Actives All-In Vitamin C + Lactic Acid Serum, and then following with sunscreen.

In the evening we recommend using Active8 Lotion after your retinoid as your night moisturizer. If your skin is dry you can follow Active8 Lotion with a heavier cream.

Should I use Active8 Lotion once or twice a day?

Active8 lotion is a non-sensitizing, hydrating, lotion that can be safely used twice a day. It layers over and under serums and heavier creams beautifully.

Angie uses Active8 twice a day.

Are there ingredients or products I shouldn't use with Active8 Lotion?

Active8 lotion can be combined/layered with any other skincare without concern for ingredient interactions.

Active8 contains 2 peptides and you may have heard that peptides shouldn't be combined/layered with acids like vitamin c or AHAs but this is a myth. The theory is that acids can break the bonds that hold peptides together making them ineffective but the conditions needed to break the bonds (high heat and strong acid) just don't exist on our skin or in our skincare products.

Active8 lotion contains niacinamide and you may have heard that niacinamide shouldn't be combined with vitamin c but this is also a myth that has been debunked.

Why is Active8 Lotion Yellow?

Active8 lotion gets its rich golden color from star ingredient CoenzymeQ10 (CoQ10). CoQ10 is naturally dark orange and will color skincare products pale yellow to orange depending on how much is used in the product. We use 1% CoQ10 in Active8 lotion. If you've used a white CoQ10 product from another brand, there's probably only a trace amount of CoQ10 in the product.

Does Active8 Lotion have a scent/fragrance?

All Angie's Actives products are fragrance-free meaning we don't add masking fragrances or fragrant botanicals that can irritate skin. That said, each product may have a scent due to the natural scents of the raw ingredients. If there is a scent, it will usually dissipate quickly after application.

This silky lotion is everything I want and everything I expect from Angie! It is chock full of good things for skin - peptides, antioxidants, ceramides, moisturizers, hydrators - the list goes on... There are a few things that I look for in skin care and a few things that I can't abide. This lotion ticks all the right boxes in what is a great, really well formulated skin care product! Although packed with good things, it's still just the right consistency for my aging skin. Active8 (what a great name, by the way!) is the perfect amount of rich, and has nicely worked with every moisturizer and sunscreen under which I've tried it. I have had no pilling when using it with other products, and there is no unpleasant odor. I also want to mention that I appreciate the reasonable and fair price point of both of the powerhouse products! All in all, Active8 has really impressed me!

Love the concept and the texture, unfortunately there is something in it that causes some stinging. I have never had a problem with any of the individual ingredients, but there is something in this formulation that my skin reacts to. It doesn’t seem to be a typical experience, so probably just a me problem.

I just finally was able to try the Active8 serum. As many have mentioned, it did ball and pill on my skin (I did use the new formulation). However, I found that if I applied it immediately after washing my face, I didn't have the balling and pilling. Even then though, the serum does not feel very moisturizing and feels tacky and sticky on my face. This makes me question as to how well the serum is actually absorbing into my skin. I will finish this bottle and see how it goes and then decide whether to reorder.

I really wanted to love this because of all the great actives in it. I expected it to be moisturizing based on all the wonderful active ingredients. I have tried it a few times in my morning skincare routine and just can't use it anymore. Unfortunately, it completely sucks up all the moisture in my skin and my skin feels so tight and dry after applying it. Even after applying it over a toner, essence, and serum. All the moisture and glow on my skin just dries up after applying this moisturizer. I then had to apply a heavy layer of moisturizer and face oil to so that it feels moisturized and not dry or tight. I believe it may be the alcohol that is pretty high up in the ingredient list that is causing this. It just doesn't work for my skin type which is dry mature skin. I have used all of the active ingredients in other serums with no issues so it's disappointing this doesn't live up to the claims for my skin.

I am loving this product! Absorbs nicely, no pilling at all when combined with other products and leaves my skin feeling soft and supple. I am in my later 40’s with combination reactive skin. I have no issues using this product and my skin is starting to appear more even toned with less hyperpigmentation. I have been using it in combination with my tretinoin gel in pm, timeless vitamin c in am , numbuzin #9 lifting essence am/pm and all three together are amazing. Hoping this product is back in stock soon because I don’t want to be without it! Thanks Angie for creating such a great product!
